Clinching - the green assembly method

In Double-stroke clinching, a unique joining method, exclusively used by ATTEXOR, Inc. and ATTEXOR Tools, the material to be joined is pushed into a rigid die through the action of a punch.

At this stage, the anvil at the bottom of the die cavity will give way, as it is held in place only by a weak spring. This will create a preform of the overlapping material.

The anvil is locked mechanically and the preform is then squeezed between the punch and the anvil outside of the rigid die, creating a rivet-like joint.

A major advantage, which competing clinching methods cannot offer, is that with double-stroke clinching using one and the same rectangular punch-and-die set, the clinching tool can handle assembly tasks where the total thickness is from below 0.030", 0.75 mm, all the way to 0.160", 4 mm, without any changes.
